I got a newsletter from them today promoting carbon offsets, which I understand to mean that you can save in one place and then get a "credit" that will allow you to pollute in a different fashion. It doesn't make sense to me. (The definition on the carbon offsets page says A carbon offset, in simple terms, is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions elsewhere to cancel out emissions arising from a particular activity.
I don't want to do the same amount of polluting. I want to reduce my polluting. I find this approach disappointing.
